Iqbal said to the Shaykh of the Ka’bah
کہا اقبال نے شيخ حرم سے
تہ محراب مسجد سو گيا کون
Kaha Iqbal Ne Sheikh-E-Haram Se
Teh-E-Mehrab-E-Masjid So Gya Kon
Iqbal said to the Shaykh of the Ka’bah:
‘Who went to sleep under the very arch in the mosque?’
ندا مسجد کی ديواروں سے آئي
فرنگی بت کدے ميں کھو گيا کون؟
Nida Masjid Ki Dewaron Se Ayi
Farangi But-kade Mein Kho Gya Kon?
A voice sounded from the walls of the mosque:
‘Who became lost in the idol‐house of the West?’
