Allama Iqbal
There are many poets but I like Allama Iqbal very much. He was a great thinker and true Muslim. He worked for the cause of Indian Muslims and roused them from deep dream through his poetry. His poetry is the message of Islam.
He was born in Sialkot on November 9, 1877. Here he got his early education. Then he went to Lahore. He did his M.A from Government College Lahore. After that he went abroad. He did Ph.D. from Germany and Bar-at-Law from London. He started law practice in Lahore but was fed up soon.
He spent most of his time in poetry. He wrote many poems. His poems carry the message of Islam. It was he who gave the idea of Pakistan to the Indian Muslims. He in fact, is a national hero. Quaid-i-Azam respected him and honoured his opinions. He could not live long to see Pakistan and died in 1938. He was burried in Lahore near Badshahi Masjid.

بہت سے شاعر ہیں لیکن مجھے علامہ اقبال بہت پسند ہیں۔ وہ ایک عظیم مفکر اور سچے مسلمان تھے۔ انہوں نے ہندوستانی مسلمانوں کے لئے کام کیا اور اپنی شاعری کے ذریعے انہیں گہرے خوابوں سے جگایا۔ ان کی شاعری میں اسلام کا پیغام ہے۔
آپ 9 نومبر 1877 کو سیالکوٹ میں پیدا ہوئے۔ یہاں انہوں نے اپنی ابتدائی تعلیم یہاں سے ہی حاصل کی۔ پھر وہ لاہور چلے گئے۔ گورنمنٹ کالج لاہور سے ایم اے پاس کیا۔ اس کے بعد وہ بیرون ملک چلے گئے۔ پھر آپ نے پی ایچ ڈی جرمنی سے کی اور قانون کی ڈگری لندن سے۔ انہوں نے لاہور میں لاء پریکٹس کا آغاز کیا لیکن جلد ہی اسے خیر آباد کہ دیا۔
انہوں نے اپنا زیادہ تر وقت شاعری میں صرف کیا۔ انہوں نے بہت سی نظمیں لکھی ہیں۔ ان کی نظموں میں اسلام کا پیغام ہے۔ انہوں نے ہی ہندوستانی مسلمانوں کو پاکستان کا نظریہ دیا تھا۔ حقیقت میں وہ ایک قومی ہیرو ہیں۔ قائداعظم ان کا احترام کرتے تھے اور ان کی رائے کا احترام کو مقدم سمجھتے تھے۔ وہ پاکستان دیکھنے کے لئے زیادہ دن زندہ نہ رہ سکے اور 1938 میں وفات پا گئے۔ انہیں لاہور میں بادشاہی مسجد کے قریب دفن کیا گیا ہے۔
